There is not a movie in (post) production that we are more amped up for than Pacific Rim. We’ve already shown the first trailer, as well as the CES extended trailer, and now it’s time for Part III. In case you don’t know, Guillermo Del Toro’s sci-fi thriller revolves around an inter-dimensional breach that’s allowed giant Godzilla-like monsters, called kaiju, to enter Earth and pretty much try to wreck shit. So humans build giant Gundam-like robots, called Jaegers, to fight back. As we’ve said before one of Del Toro’s superlative talents is in creature design and we see it played out excellently in the trailer below — both the monsters and Jaegers are straight out of a 12-year old kid’s futuristic fantasies. A little more seems to be explained in this trailer, as we also see an appearance by Charlie Day from Always Sunny In Philadelphia, as well as Charlie Hunnam and Del Toro staple Ron Perlman from Sons Of Anarchy. I wonder if FX has invested some coin in this one? Anyway, Pacific Rim hits theaters on July 12, 2013…
