Danielle Levitt is having the opening for her book “We Are Experienced” at the excellent boutique/vintage bookstore/gallery Reserve tonight in Los Angeles (420 N. Fairfax Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90036, across from Canters). Levitt photographed teenagers for this book, and excelled at capturing them in large format prints in their native element. The images are simple, but very telling. From the pom-pom wielding cheerleader to the white-faced goth to the acne-inflicted hormone victim, all varieties of the  sub-species Americana Teenagerus are represented. It will be a good chance to see these prints in the size they were meant to be seen, instead of in simply coffee-book dimensions. Oh, and Freshjive made a line of shirts for the book. Nice stuff.
