If you like your whisky rocks a hell of a lot more than whisky water, it’s high time your highball go the way of the Whisky Wedge. By pouring your whisky through a hole in the included moldable/freezable silicon slip, the traditional ice cube becomes obsolete as the wedge shape is extra slow to warm, and hence water down your Balvenie Portwood. The Whisky Wedge comes with silicon mold and double old-fashioned glass — get yours for $15, or do your old fashioned the old-fashioned way and just drink faster.
Let’s not allow for any skepticism that a recent film blunder, also about a retro-spouse-heist based on a novel, may have provided Needless to say, the Jennifer Anniston-led Life of Crime — based on the James Ellroy novel — won’t hold a candle to Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest oeuvre. Inherent Vice looks infinitely more promising. Written, directed and produced by the mind behind Boogie Nights, Magnolia and There Will Be Blood, Inherent Vice is a noir kidnap story set in 1970 with all the kitschy set pieces that era would indicate. Based on the book by author Thomas Pynchon (The Crying Of Lot 49, Gravity’s Rainbow, etc), the film stars Joaquin Phoenix as a private eye, with Reese Witherspoon, Benicio Del Toro, Josh Brolin, Jena Malone and Owen Wilson also throwing in their talents. Our favorite critic quote has got to be “It’s not a movie. It’s a contact high,” from Hitfix. Not sure what that means, but we’re sure it’s worth a hit. Set your bong-load pre-party and popcorn purchase date for the December 12th release.
Whattup kindly readers! Not only have we been dealing with some internal issues as we switched providers, but this all happened as we were commissioned to write a story on scuba diving in Grenada. Bullshit, you say? We swear it’s true! And the story — as well as a constant stream of new content — will be coming after we return next Monday, October 6th. Well, the Grenada feature may take some extra time but new content will begin posting on Monday. Until then, enjoy some of our awesome evergreen content like our features on Reggieknow, the World’s First Action Figure Stylist, and marathon swimmer Steve Redmond. Or even that time we drove Jaguar’s landmark F-Type Roadster all over Italy. Or rededicate yourself to discovering the perfect IPA. Or spend some time with your kids. Or spend some time getting drunk with your kids — who knows, it’s up to you. Regardless, we’ll be back fresher than ever soon enough. Till then!

Many a music enthusiast and basically any record collector will argue that album-cover art is an integral part of the music appreciation experience. Or at least it used to be, back in the crucial chunks of rock history when album cover art did indeed mean an actual album cover.
In recognition of album art’s place in history, Taschen’s aptly named Rock Covers has gathered the greats in rock album-cover art, the book standing as a compilation totalling 750-rock covers in all —including The Clash, Quiet Riot, Sonic Youth, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Sex Pistols, Pink Floyd, The Cure and Iron Maiden. Included with each cover is a related list of facts pertaining to the artists, musicians, photographers and illustrators who contributed to the work and related genre in question. The book’s content, which also includes interviews and lists from the world’s prominent record collectors, was put together by Robbie Busch and Jonathon Kirby, two big-time record collectors, DJs and music writers. Get your copy of the 552-page hardcover book that chronicles covers from everything AC/DC to ZZ Top for $70.

With word buzzing of an upcoming album — one which he’s reportedly recorded over 60 songs for — and after a debut being so universally received, Kendrick Lamar‘s single “I” is warmly welcomed. Particularly when its themes pushing positivity and the gift of self love. “Peace to fashion police, I wear my heart on my sleeve,” is but one line of many which denotes more than just confidence, but sincerity from the Good Kid. The song seeks to inspire both realness and self-realization in a world of police mobs, bottles of lean, and other tests of the world. If you’re feeling it, see what else he’s been doing lately with the Flying Lotus…
How might one undo the dirty web-link phenomenon known as the Fappening? You know, that mini tornado of nakedness involving the public posting of celebrity privates? Well, you actually can’t. When it comes to the interwebs, tap-tap no take-backs. But what the folks of The Unfappening actually can take of are your artistically rendered coverups to the scandalous photos. Want in on the action? Send your artwork now. Want to see Jennifer Lawrence draped in cartoon Supreme gear over her cooch? Check. Kate Upton covered in fungi? Double check. Jennifer Lopez dressed like Wonder Woman? Triple check. Support the arts and hit up the Unfappening, and maybe come up with your own way to save Mystique’s integrity.
