In further support of Ariel Pink’s recently released “Put Your Number in My Phone” single comes the self-aware, slightly bizarre music video directed by Grant Singer. In a definite nod to the film Midnight Cowboy, Señor Pink — while clad in cowboy hat and fuzzy jacket — wheels his sickly friend through the mean streets of a shopping mall. There, he faces all perils of a failed pick-up artist. Watch the video now, and be ready to pick up Pink’s new album Pom Pom when it drops November 18th.
This winter, the luxury LV brand is stepping it up into some noteworthy footwear choices. First off, the Louis Vuitton Runaway sneaker (shown below in its rouge colorway). The running sneaker is surprisingly not overbearing with its branding, the LV insignia limited to the rubber label on the tongue and Louis Vuitton metal engraving at the back of the shoe. Leather patchwork on the upper and the rubber sole is accented in suede calf leather.
But Louis is also supplying the workwear with their Alpinist mountain boot (above). Subtle, functional and perfect for mention in Yeezy’s next single, the Alpinist’s upper is made of nubuck and metcalf leather with a contrasting rubber toecap, and the rubber sole is tricolored with a supportive micro midsole. The Runaway sneaker is available in three color options for $825, and the Alpinist boot for $1,170.

Aussie-via-Venice Beach makers of custom motorcycles and surfboards Deux Ex Machina have unveiled their Pegasus — an impressive wheeled steed inspired by a customer’s 1969 Camaro and CBR1000 Fireblades. Decked out with quasi-neon red rims on an otherwise black frame, the Pegasus uses a customized Yamaha SR400 tank, its gasses moving through two-in-one style headers. Similar a Deus Kawasaki W650 they’ve built previously, the bike sports a 21″ wheel in the front and a 17″ wheel in back. Other bells and whistles include the muffler’s brilliantly white coating, LED warning lights, Bates-style head light, custom bars, mirrors and battery box, and the coil-spring seat stitched in black leather. Hit up the Deus’ site on your way to Sydney, Australia for enquiries.

Owen Dewitt, the man who is known as Grimsheep, is finally releasing his line of tiger-edition vinyl toys through Happy Panda, just like he’s been promising since 2011. That’s years ago now, so the limited run of 100 toys will surely be gone with a quickness. Each of the Happy Panda tiger-edition vinyl toys measure 6″ tall, comes with one body, two heads (one tiger and one sheep dome) and four weapons (two swords and two guns).
But the tiger-sheeple toy is actually just the first of Dewitt’s interchangeable-head series. Rumor has it that the next edition will hold a skeleton/panda switch option instead. But wait… so if all these toys come with some sort of species-shifting pop top, does that inevitably mean countless creature configurations with just a little twist-top action? That’s enough to get any toy collector’s head spinning, so to speak. Heads up, for $50 each.
