Built by the masters of loud rock 'n roll sound

In the past, we’ve mostly recognized Marshall for their headphones. But obviously they’ve been mastering rock ‘n roll sound for over 50 years. They’re really just about amazing, high-fidelity, punch-you-in-the-gut sound in general. The latest boom-worthy piece of hardware to join their inventory is the Woburn — a home speaker which provides classically designed, analog knobs to control your bass and treble, but also features Bluetooth capability, as well as RCA and optical outputs. Technical details include twin 5 1/3″ subwoofers and 1″ dome tweeters. Measures 15.75″ x 11.4″ x 7.87″ in size, 100-240V/200w in voltage, and a frequency of 50-60HZ. Turn it up after you preorder in black or cream for $550.

Artisan crafting and do-it-yourself-ing have been trending about the globe in general, but where the interest has perhaps blossomed most is in the art of making and knowing a good craft beer. With Barley and Hops: The Craft Beer Book, Gestalten has compiled the perfect book collection for the DIY brew lover. Whether one is entertaining the prospect of a new hobby, starting a new business in brewing, or even if one is a mere foam-sipping pageturner in the need of a good pint, Barley and Hops: The Craft Beer Book presents 256 full-color pages of insight into today’s brewing practices, culture, people, places and beer, beer, beer. What began as hobby culture in the U.S about thirty years ago has since taken off into a worldwide movement to which this book stands as testament. Barley and Hops was compiled by Sylvia Kopp, a certified beer somalier and journalist who has juried and guided many through both the brewing and tasting experience worldwide, with contributions from other master brewers such as Sven Ehmann and Robert Klanten. Due out on September 19th for  $50.

Barbie Lagerfeld rocking the world's smallest fingerless gloves

German-born, Paris-living fashion lord Karl Lagerfeld is ruling more than the Chanel label these days. He’s also taking toystore shelves to the catwalk. Mattel makes a highly limited edition Barbie dressed up like a Lagerfeld lookalike styled exactly like the fashion icon — ankle boots, slacks, tailored jacket, high-collar white shirt, black satin cravat, silver ponytail and fingerless gloves, natch. Seeing as they’re only making 999 of the highly stylized dolls, the Karl Lagerfeld Barbie will undoubtedly be a must-have to all toy collectors. Although the Barbie will be making many appearances at New York Fashion Week next, you’ll want to keep an eye on the Barbie collectors’ site for your chance to drop $200 on one (hint: it will be available for purchase on September 29).

Poler, the outdoor label out of Portland who are good for both gear and collabs alike, have gotten together with Team AWOL for a custom Specialized bike resilient enough to book it across the entire state of Oregon in three days. Chief bragging points aside from its efficiency in completing the Oregon Outback relate to its overall versatility (track, town riding and dirt alike). A limited number of Poler x AWOL Specialized bikes will be available tomorrow, September 6th. If you want to scope it out, chat it up with the Poler folks, or simply check out the related ride photos in person — and if you happen to be in Portland, of course — pedal on over to the release party TODAY at 413 SW 10th Ave. between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.
