If you’re looking for the Hobbes to your Calvin, but in a way you can really sink your toes into, then Middle of Beyond has got a Tibetan-style throw rug for you. Each Tibetan Tiger Rug measures 72″ x 44″ and is hand-tufted from the wild pelts of a real-live hunk of 100% acrylic beast. The authentic tapestry is then hand-crafted by a wise old man in a hut just outside a monastery very close to Nepal. Well, it’s actually a few miles over in a shop somewhere in Austin, TX. There applied are the ancient, intricate twill and knotting methods of our total sarcasm. But hang on, before you get bananas in a bunch, these rugs actually are made to order, so that means you had better leave aside at least a month after you place your order for $225.

Obviously a tiger rug goes in front of a globe and a fireplace, duh.

Kormaran has had the vision of a recreational boat that is more like an autobot. The convertible boat is to be quick-moving like a monohull, but stable like a catamaran or trimaran, while also converting into a sunning deck. But that’s not all. Take this little carbon fiber canoe-ski into flight mode, which cuts water resistance by 80%, and then you can James Bond/Bruce Wayne your ass up and down the coast at a maximum speed of 38 knots. Kormaran claims they have not just invented a new boat, but have instead developed a whole new class of boat. More to come as they come up with it, but keep on snorkeling in the meantime.

When Tata bought Jaguar in 2008 from a struggling Ford Motor Company, the once proud Great Cat was on a respirator. Many wondered if the Indian multi-national conglomerate had the wherewithal to maneuver the finer nuances of an historic luxury brand. Then, Ratan Tata vowed to do whatever he could to bring Jaguar back to prominence, injecting more than 5 billion dollars into the company and its Land Rover brethren. The results, thus far, have been nothing less than remarkable.

Leading the resurgence has been Jaguar’s brilliant F-Type, one of the finest engineered roadsters (and coupes) on the market. You might’ve seen us take it across the Italian landscape last summer. You also might’ve seen their adverts with famous British actors proclaiming, “It’s good to be bad,” and in the case of the sinister F-Type, that’s most certainly the case. But it’s not just in pulse-quickening passion vehicles that Jag has been excelling — in 2012 they leapt in J.D. Power’s standard-setting quality ratings from 20th place to second, beating everyone but Toyota. Keep in mind this is from a brand whose reliability for decades made Fiat look downright sturdy. So it’s not just sizzle; Jaguar is re-establishing its reputation from the paws up.

On Monday, Jaguar unveiled the next major artillery in its quest for resurgence: the XE.

And to do so they went full throttle. At a lavish, full capacity affair in central London’s Earl’s Court — hosted by John Hannah with Emeli Sandé, Kaiser Chiefs and Eliza Doolittle lending their musical talents — Jaguar invited media from across the globe to witness the first sighting of a car that aims to be one of Jag’s best selling vehicles.

First single from Jennifer Lee's Upcoming "Desiderium" LP

Jennifer Lee, better known as bass queen Tokimonsta to you and I, has played the aisles of this Supermarket before. You’ll recognize the flavor in some ways — a little bit smooth, meticulously edited and always bass-y, but now with a little smooth electro-R&B-soul. Tokimonsta has been dropping the word about her upcoming Desiderium LP for a minute, and now makes her first single “Drive” available for streaming (featuring the work of New York vocalist Arama). Full Desiderium album to release through Young Art Records on September 23rd with accompanying tour throughout the fall (dates listed after the Jump).

You’ve been hauling around that stale vanilla Christmas tree on the rearview mirror of your dropped El Camino since 1991, so the smell has long since turnt burnt. Now Hangin’ with the Homies brings the UGK to your very own dashboard, in the form of the much missed Pimp C. Note that the scent of big pimps is not available in either dirty money or syrup sip, but rather only “new car”. Start ridin’ dirty for only $5.
